Donna loves golf almost as much as she enjoys helping people negotiate the challenging world of real estate. She's put together a fantastic resource of golf courses in the Triangle and Pinehurst areas for you, as well as sharing some of her favorite golf courses:

LEGACY GOLF LINKS
Aberdeen, NC
910.944.8825

A beauty. Jack Nicklaus II designed the course on rolling, wooded terrain, with bermudagrass fairways and bentgrass greens. It is totally public. Water comes into play frequently but don't let that intimidate you.

KEITH HILL COUNTRY CLUB
Buies Creek, NC
910.893.5051

The best kept secret in this part of the country and it's only about 40 minutes from Cary. This Ellis Maples course is owned and operated by Campbell University; the horticulture students maintain the course and it's always in the best shape. Fairways are like carpet and the greens are like streak lightning.

This beautiful course has wide fairways and the rough can get thick, especially in August. The greens are large and sloped. And watch out for the 9th and 18th holes - they are very challenging. You can walk the course anytime. The practice range is the largest in North Carolina and it was designed by Dan Maples. Don't miss out on this one... it just doesn't compare with any of the rest.

THE PIT GOLF LINKS
Pinehurst, NC
910.944.1600

Now this is the pits. You will never find another course around quite like this one. Dan Maples designed this course which is set in pine barrens, with bermudagrass fairways and bentgrass greens. If you miss the fairways, try hitting off some of the highest mounds with the tallest grass (sage brush) you've ever seen along a fairway. You've got to play it to believe it... words just can't describe.

WOODLAKE COUNTRY CLUB
Vass, NC
910.245.4686

Two 18-hole courses. The first was designed by Dan and Ellis Maples. The first few holes border a lake and you'll have to be accurate. The wind can be difficult at times. If you think you've got the right club, take another. It's deceiving and don't even think about pitch and run. The balls will stay on the upslope to the green.

The second course was designed by Arnold Palmer. You start off thinking it's easy. Do you know how many balls I've seen land in the water on the par 3 second hole? You'll find many sweeping doglegs and the greens are well bunkered. Try it, you'll like it.
